I've been thinking about and studying the psalms extensively over the past month.
It's been really interesting, because devotions used to be a box I would check off every morning. Before New Attitude. The meditations we did there really struck me, and I've been sloooowing waaaaaaaaaay down when I read the Bible. I've been studying the psalms for weeks and I'm still only on Psalm 22.
Even more incredible is how useful memorizing them is. At my job I have to get up before seven every morning and scramble to get to Best Buy, so I no longer have time for morning devotions, but whilst in the shower I go over what I've memorized and studied...and it has the necessary and desired effect of helping me connect with God before my day starts and the battle continues.
...that's all I have to say. I'd like to post some continuing thoughts on the Psalms here...and other people can post too, of course. This isn't the Bryce Club. I tried that once and it was really boring, and the food was terrible.

Psalm 24 The King of Glory A Psalm of David.
1The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, 2for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. 3Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. 5He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
7Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle! 9Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

This weekend at our youth conference we had a talk about what beleiver we are (i posted this elswhere) but in 119 it has a great disscussion on what we need to be. We used verses to talk about being a stalker of Christ. I find Psalm and what I have read in Proverbs ver good insight of what you need and what you watch out for in your faith.

I have been thinking over the last few days about waiting on the Lord. It’s an idea I’ve found spread throughout the psalms.
“Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:5)
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14)
We are to wait on God and His sovereign timing. The only problem is, doing so patiently requires trust that he will do something. It’s much easier to get caught up in day to day junk and forget that God is constantly working all things towards His purposes, and we have only to wait in order to see His plans unfold. It’s an old saying that you can’t rush genius. How much more would it be remiss to rush the Maker of everything? To be sure, he could have done things differently, and brought us into a paradise instantly and made life easy, but to what end? I don’t think we’d have the same understanding of how much higher and holier he than we lowly earthlings. I think the way we view God would be shallower and more limited...
So there’s some brief thoughts on some of the psalms I’ve been studying. Please feel free to comment and, if necessary, disagree…

I agree. To know what he says to us is not a rush rush thing like us humans do. It's more of patience. Patience is a virtue and with God is you don't listen and wait you will not know what he wants and he will not talk to you. We talked about this on Wed. night Bible study, If you do not seek him truly seek after him. If you don't listen then God will not reveal him to you. He will not speak to you.
Did I make sense

Mostly. I would edit for greater coherency. And you said God wouldn't talk to you when I think you meant when, but I got what you were saying.

OK. Good. Yeah when you are not searching for him. When you are not wanting him so to speak and then he won't talk to you because you won't listen. And then you wonder why he is not talking to you. you pushed him aside so he just waited till you realized he was missing.
