Alright this past weekend I went to Colorado Springs for a youth conference called Desperation. This weekend changed my life. I know who he is and how wonderful God is but I have never been willing to sacrifice (we descussed different sacrifices you need to do to really worship God.) and just to raise my arms, jump, shout, and just let God know who he is. Worship has never been more fullfilled as it was this weekend. My throat hurts every so often, I couldn't sing. I felt so close to God and I don't want to loose that.
We had about 6-7 thousand students there thiss weekend and God touched each one in so many differnt ways. Our speakers were awesome there was John Bevere his wife Lisa, David Perkins, Ron Luce, Pastor Ted Haggard, youth pastor Brent Parsley, Aaron Stern, plus a few others who did smaller seminars. Each talked about who we are in Christ. The different things we need to have a relationship with God, to know who he is and who we are to him. What types of worshipers thee are, what keeps us from God and what we need to do to fight back. One I liked a lot was the fact that there are only 4% of our generation that is worshipping God, who fully worship him. The speaker Brent he challenged us to go out and make that more than 4. I challenge you guys to join us and bring up that percentage.
Another thing that happened that was wow was that on Saturday afternoon before dinner we had a session about ministry. I beleive it was Aaron Stern leading it but he told us that it is not about being a missionary out on the mission filed but it's about you being on a mission. He talked about when Moses led the Isralites out into the desert and they had the rebellion and when God opened up the earth and swallowed up people and then Moses went to God and asked what do we do? And then God said get out of the way I'm sending a famine and it will kill them off. But then Moses told Aaron go and get firse from the altar and go inbetween the living and the dead and when he did the dying stopped. There were 14,00 people who died between both of those catastophies and because Aaron listened and brought the fire in the middle he saved the rest. Well Aaron challed us to go and get firse from the altar and go in the asembly of our friends and save them. later that afternoon he asked us if there were anyone who had the calling to be on the field. Three people stepped up from my group saying yes. I used to doubt that God was really calling me out. I never thought I could actually preach or you know lead others, but as I heard srories about people doing things they never thought they could do and bringing people to Christ and praying God said you are going, you can teach, you can lead. I'm leaving in 5 months to Mexico for taining and then possibly going out not long after I get back and going and helping different missionaries and groups out there. My pastor came with us and he is going to help us three get ready for this plan. He's now going to spend time training me for this as well. But all of us were made to go out and make disciples and even though my youth youth group is not going with me they need to know God's word as much so they can help make disciples.
A lot happened this weekend I want to share with you but I do not have much time. I'll continue to post more when I can. I hope you enjoy hearing about our expierence. 10 youth and 3 adults plus about 7 thousand (maybe not sure it was a huge place) spending 2 and a half days pationatly seeking after God, worshipping God with everything we have, all out strength and voices. and coming back itching to go out and change out friedns and family, neighborhood and specially our generation.
